BASSETERRE, St. Kitts (Dec/16/17) – LAW enforcement officers have confirmed that former Supervisor of Elections, Wingrove George has been slapped with two warrants of Misconduct in Public Office.
According to a statement from police, George of Cleverly Hill, Sandy Point was yesterday formally arrested, charged and cautioned on two warrants in the First Instance, for the offence of Misconduct in Public Office.
The offence is alleged to have been committed between February 16 and 17, 2015, while George held the Public Office of Supervisor of Elections.
George went before Magistrate Reynold Benjamin, and was granted bail in the sum of $25,000 on each charge with two (2) sureties.
The conditions set by the court are that Mr. George must surrender his travel documents upon bail being granted; must not leave the state until the determination of the matter; and is to report to the Frigate Bay Police Station every Monday and Friday between 6:00 a.m. and 12:00 a.m. until the matter is dealt with, the police confirmed.
