Parry and NRP Positive about Taking NIA Elections

By: Jermine Abel, SKNVibes.com
CHARLESTOWN, Nevis (Dec/18/17) – LEADER of the Nevis Reformation Party (NRP), Joseph Parry is adamant that his slate of candidates for today’s local elections in Nevis, will claim  victory.

He told SKNVibes that  he is “very confident” based on more than just the response and turn out of people to their rallies and other events around the island.

“I am not depending on the crowd. I have done my homework. We have done our homework and we know what the people are saying,” he explained.

The party held its last rally ahead of the elections last evening, and a sea of green flooded downtown Charlestown.

And according to Parry, the people would vote overwhelmingly for his party, in order to see a change on the island.

Parry and his NRP party have had one victory thus far during the election cycle. Just recently, over 20 names were removed from voters lists in various constituencies, ahead of the elections, including his, with specific mention of St. James’
    .
Parry told SKNVibes that the judge, however voted in their favour to have 13 names reinstated.

He stated that had more persons come forward and signed the affidavit to prove they resided in St. James, the numbers would have been higher.

“It is very important that the people of Nevis and the people of St. Kitts understand this: because people made it appear that we used to do something wrong.”

Parry reminded that during his tenure as  Premier of the island, he had no power to strike names from the voters list, as do  the two Nevisian Ministers and the Supervisor of Elections.

“…two Ministers of Government in St. Kitts and they have far more power than I ever had, and I had no power at all to make any changes and they should be held responsible.”

Currently, voters are at the various polling stations exercising their franchise.
