GIS, 19 December 2017 - Food Handlers’ clinics are scheduled to resume on Virgin Gorda tomorrow December 20 and Wednesday, December 27.

The first session will be held at Speedy’s main office conference room while the second session will be held on December 27, at St. Mary’s Anglican Church Hall.  The two venues are located in the Valley and training sessions will begin at 10:00 a.m.

Environmental Health Officer, Ms. Candaicy David said, “The training is scheduled for both new food handlers and persons interested in renewing their certificates.”

Persons renewing their food handler’s certificates are required to present their expired certificates, social security card, work permit and/or picture identification.

New food handlers are asked to bring a copy of the Mantoux (skin test) and stool tests, one passport size photograph, social security card, and work permit.

Ms. David noted that persons who may have lost or damaged their card as a result of the hurricanes, once the card is still valid can bring a valid form of ID to the division’s offices in Virgin Gorda to have it replaced.

For further information, persons can contact the Environmental Health Division at telephone number 852-7782.

The Environmental Health Division is committed to ensuring that all aspects of the environment with the potential to negatively impact health are managed efficiently to enable all persons in the BVI to attain and maintain optimal health and social well-being
