Police confirm latest robbery; more house break-ins recorded

    BASSETERRE, St. KittsDec. 28.17 – THE police have today issued a statement confirming recent media reports of a break-in at Dollar Stretcher in Sandy Point.
     
    According to the Police, they responded to a report of an armed robbery at Dollar Stretcher which is located on the Island Main Road in Sandy Point on December 26th.
     
    The incident is said to have taken place on around 10:18 a.m. on Tuesday.
     
    Based on preliminary investigations, the police said that a lone gunman entered the establishment and robbed the business of a sum of money.
     
    During the incident, the perpetrator was armed with a firearm which he used to discharge the weapon during the robbery – no one was hurt. 
     
    Police are calling on the public to assist with information regarding this incident. They are asked to contact the Sandy Point Police Station at 465-6261 or the nearest Police Station.
     
    Meanwhile, there have been a number of break-ins and larcenies in several areas in St. Kitts.
     
    The police force stated that there were a number of such incidents in Cardin Avenue, Upper Thibou Avenue, Spooners Village, Taylors Housing Project and Mattingley Heights.
