Police Press Release 5/1/18: Report of arrests, convictions and other activities

    Basseterre, St. Kitts, January 05, 2017 (RSCNPF): Below is a report of arrests, convictions and other activities recorded by the Royal St. Christopher and Nevis Police Force for the period December 24-29, 2017. 

     

    ARRESTED AND BAILED:

    Arrested: Cavin Grant of Fort Thomas Road was arrested, formally charged and cautioned for the offence of House Breaking and Larceny.

    Arrested: Antoine Galloway of Newtown was arrested, formally charged and cautioned on two (2) counts of Conveying of Contraband into her Majesty's Prison.

    Arrested: Simonette Williams of Stapleton Village was arrested, formally charged and cautioned for two (2) offences under the Customs and Excise Laws: (1) Removing Goods from Customs Control Area Without Permission of a Proper Officer in the Performance of his or her Duty; and (2) Fail to Present to the Proper Officer Your Accompanying Baggage. She was also informed that she will be receiving a summons for the offence of Using Abusive Language to a Customs Officer Whilst on Duty. 

    Arrested/Bailed: Clayton Skeete of Phillips, who was arrested, formally charged and cautioned for the offences of Driving an Unlicensed Vehicle not Being Covered by a Policy of Insurance and Driving Without a Valid Driver's License, was granted bail in the sum of $5,000 for his appearance at the District 'B' Magistrate Court on January 15, 2018. 

    Arrested/Bailed: Nardo Challenger of Godwin Ghaut who was arrested, formally charged and cautioned for the offence of Battery on Police, was granted bail in the sum of $5,000 for his appearance at the Basseterre Magistrate Court on February 08, 2018.

    Arrested/Bailed: Ron Francis of Rawlins Housing Project St. Paul’s, who was arrested, formally charged and cautioned for the offences of Driving Without Insurance and Driving Without a Valid and Unexpired License, was granted bail in the sum of $5,000 for his appearance at the Dieppe Bay Magistrate Court on February 05, 2018.

    Arrested/Bailed:  Alisha Jutin of West Bourne Ghaut, who was arrested, formally charged and cautioned for the offences of Resisting Arrest and Indecent Language, was granted bail in the sum of $7,000 for her appearance at the Basseterre Magistrate Court on February 05, 2018.

    Bailed: Marlon Huggins of Bourkes Project, Sandy Point who was arrested for Driving Without a Valid Driver's Licence, Driving Without Insurance and Fraudulently using a Temporary Driving Permit, was granted bail in the like sum of $7,000 for his appearance at the Dieppe Bay Magistrate Court on February 05, 2018. 

    OTHER ACTIVITIES: 
     
    Marijuana Plants Uprooted: Officers on patrol reported that they discovered, uprooted and seized a total of forty-eight (48) Marijuana plants ranging from seedling to one (1) foot in height. The Plants were found growing on a plot of land in Conaree Village. 
     
    Search Warrants Executed: The police executed search warrants on properties in the areas of Brombil Street (Newtown), Cherry Gardens Housing, Upper Market Street, Conaree, Stapleton Village and The Alley (Sandy Point).

    Abandoned Properties Searched: Police continued to execute searches of properties. Most recently searches were done in the areas of McKnight and Wades Garden.
