Pathologist to determine cause of death

Basseterre, St. Kitts, Jan.06,18 – THERE may be something amiss with the death of the young man who reportedly drowned at a beach on the Southeast Peninsula on Thursday afternoon (Dec.04) .

SKNVibes News reported recently that a young man drowned after apparently hitting his head on a rock while diving.

Law enforcement officers in a press statement today disclosed the identity of the young man as being, 29-year-old Torday Burroughs of Cayon, but could not confirm the cause of death.

The Police Force’s Public Relations Department only pointed out that based on investigations, they have referred to a pathologist to determine the cause of death.

“Investigations have led the police to allow a pathologist [to] determine the cause of death of a man who was reported as having drowned at Friars Bay, South East Peninsula,” the statement said.

Further, the force noted that, “reports also indicate that after a while he was not seen and when his friends went looking for him they noticed that he was floating on the water.  They pulled him out. The Emergency Medical Service was called, and Burroughs was transported to the JNF Hospital where he was pronounced dead by Dr. Gutierrez. “

An autopsy will be performed shortly, as officers continue with their investigations into the incident.
