Police Press Release 9/1/18: Report of arrests, convictions and other activities

    Basseterre, St. Kitts January 09, 2017 (RSCNPF): Below is a report of arrests, convictions and other activities recorded by the Royal St. Christopher and Nevis Police Force for the period December 30, 2017 - January 04, 2018.

     

    Arrested: Kelvis Freeman of The Alley Main Road, Sandy Point was arrested, formally charged and cautioned for the offences of Possession of Cannabis and Possession of Cannabis with Intent to Supply.

    Arrested: Jimmy Junior Allen of Basseterre was arrested, formally charged and cautioned for the offence of Building Breaking and Larceny committed between December 08 and 10, 2017.

    Arrested: Fauston Grey of Pond Road was arrested, formally charged and cautioned for the offences of Driving Without a Policy of Insurance or such a Security in Respect of Third Party Risk and Being a Driver of the Motor Car when he was not a Holder of a Valid Driver's License.

    Arrested: Cardie Stapleton of Taylors was arrested, formally charged and cautioned for five (5) counts of Building Breaking and Larceny and one (1) count of Building Breaking with Intent. The offences were committed between the October 25 and 26, 2017.

    Arrested/Bailed: Kennedy Isles of Taylors Housing Project was arrested, formally charged and cautioned for Carrying Aboard a Certain Offensive Weapon to Wit a Knife and was unable to give a satisfactory reason for same. He was granted bail in the sum of $5,000 for his appearance at the Basseterre Magistrate Court on February 05, 2018.

    Bailed: Calvin Thomas of Buckleys Estate, who was charged for the offence of Battery, was granted bail in the sum of $2,000 for his appearance at the Basseterre Magistrate Court on February 05, 2018.

    OTHER ACTIVITIES:

    Abandoned Properties and Lots: The police continued to search abandoned properties.  Most recently, searches were done in the following areas: Mad House Alley (Newtown) and Crab Hill (Sandy Point).

    Search Warrants Executed: Police executed several search warrants during the period of this report. Warrants were executed on properties in the following areas: Boyd’s Village, Mad House Alley, Upper Shaw Ave, Pond’s Pasture, Pond Hill, Meades Pasture, Sandown Road, Bourkes Project (Sandy Point) and Bath Village.   

    House Breaking and Larceny: Police responded to several reports of House Breaking and Larceny which occurred in the following areas: Prickley Pear Alley, Upper Fiennes Avenue and Taylors.

    Citizen Safety: The police continued to conduct Vehicle Check Points and Stop and Search Exercises along the island main road on St. Kitts and Nevis. All these activities are being conducted in support of anti-crime objectives to remove illegal firearms, ammunition, drugs and other instruments that can be used to commit crimes in our communities.
