MoE bids Farewell to Educator Mr. Blake

    (EMU) – St. Kitts, January, 11, 2018: The Ministry of Education hosted a quaint farewell reception on January 10th, in honour of Mr. Michael Blake, former Education Officer in the Ministry.  

     

    Colleagues within the Ministry gathered to send-off Mr. Blake and honoured him for his distinguished performance in Education. During the reception many reminisced on his contributions in various areas of the community and education throughout his tenure  Mr. Blake has served the Ministry of Education for 37 years, serving in the posts of Teacher, Deputy Principal, Principal, Chief Education Officer (Ag.) and most recently, Education Officer.  Giving remarks on behalf of the Ministry, Permanent Secretary Mr. William Hodge lauded Mr. Blake for his unwavering contributions to the Education Sector and the Federation of St. Kitts and Nevis citing, “You have worked tirelessly to fulfil these important positions. You gave support and recognition to volunteer groups namely the National Men’s Council and the National Debating Team, also to professionals like teachers who serve quietly day in and day out, making a difference to the lives of others.”
     
    Guests in attendance were past and present colleagues and students of Mr. Blake, including high ranking Education Officials, friends and well-wishers.  
     
    Mr. Michael S. Blake has been promoted to a position at the St. Kitts Embassy in Havana, Cuba. We at the Ministry wish Mr. Blake the very best in his future endeavours as he continues to contribute to our Federation may he do so for many years to come
