CHARLESTOWN, Nevis, Jan.12.2018 – NEVIS Reformation Party Representative (NRP) in the Charlestown District, Robelto Hector, has officially challenged the results of the December 18 elections for that area.
Hector was defeated by 11 votes, 585 to 596 to the Concerned Citizens Movement’s Spencer Brand.
Supervisor of Elections, Elvin Bailey was today served with a lawsuit challenging the results of the district.
The Supervisor confirmed to SKNVibes this evening that he did in fact receive the notice.
“He (Hector) has filed a suit in court,” he stated.
Bailey was unable to give further information, only revealing that “I was served it (lawsuit) when I arrived in Nevis this afternoon”.
He explained that he is not too familiar with the legal aspect of the suit and as such was unable to give a comment on the elections.
Hector was one of four candidates for the NRP that lost at the elections, and many were confident including the candidate that he would have won that seat for his party.
SKNVibes reached out to Hector for a comment, but he directed this media house to his lawyer QC, Dr. Henry Browne for information.
However, SKNVibes was unable to reach Dr. Browne up to press time.
