Police seeking public's assistance after hit and run

    BASSETERRE, St. Kitts, Jan. 18. 2018 – LAW enforcement officers are seeking the public’s assistance to locate the individual who was behind the hit and run of a primary school student on January 11.
     
    The student was recently on her way home when she was reportedly struck by a cyclist, who SKNVibes News understands stopped an enquired whether she was okay.
     
    Superintendent, Cromwell Henry told SKNVibes that the student was on the crossing at Phillips Street, Pond Pasture, when she was hit.
     
    He explained that she sustained injuries to her face and was rushed to the JN France Hospital for treatment.
     
    The mother in an emotional plea to the perpetrator, called on the person to make contact with her.
     
    “Because even if it was an accident you turn off leaving my child like this, you gotta be mad.”

    According to Henry, the child was not able to say who the individual was at the time of the incident.

    Further, he said that no person was around when the individual stopped and enquired about the child’s wellbeing.

    “As of now, we do not know who that rider was, and we are hoping that we can identify who that rider is.”

    The incident has caused shock in St. Kitts, as many have taken to social media to condemn the reckless act.
