By: Jermine Abel, SKNVibes.com
BASSETERRE, St. Kitts, Jan. 30.2018 –  COMMISSIONER of Police, Ian Queeley has pledged to work with groups in society to ensure safety for all in the Federation.

That assurance came as the force’s high command met with representatives of the Chinese and Dominican Republic communities in St. Kitts and Nevis, to listen to complaints that they had with regards to safety and security.

Speaking at a recent press conference, Queeley explained that during the latter part of 2017 the high command met with executives of the Dominican Republic Association in St. Kitts and Nevis, and this year with the Chinese business community.

“We know that it has been bandied about that these groups have been targeted. And so, the high command wanted to hear their concerns, and to discuss with them ways to improve their own safety.”

The CoP disclosed that the meetings have been very fruitful.

In reports published by various media outlets, Members of the DR community in the Federation, especially in St. Kitts have complained about the numerous attacks that were perpetrated against their person, homes or business establishments.

Queeley disclosed that they are scheduled to meet with the wider community of Dominican Republic residents to listen to the various concerns they have to express.
