By: Staff Reporter, SKNViibes.com
BASSETERRE, St. Kitts, Jan. 31. 2018 – ORGANIZERS of the Caribbean Premier League (CPL), dubbed the biggest party in sports, has confirmed that the 2018 edition will be held during a similar time period as the 2017 schedule.

That announcement comes as the CPL Committee and Cricket West Indies have crafted a window to schedule the tournament.

In making the announcement, the Hero Caribbean Premier League (CPL) stated that they and Cricket West Indies (CWI) have agreed on a window for the 2018 edition of the tournament.

The organizers revealed that the event will take place between 8th August and 16th September.

Despite not disclosing a full schedule, they indicated that the opening round of matches will take place in Trinidad & Tobago and Guyana.

“This window means that there will be no clash with international fixtures. All West Indies players will be available for the tournament in 2018 and will be able to submit their names for this year’s draft. In 2018, the very best Caribbean cricketing talent will be on display at the Hero CPL.”

CPL’s Chief Operations Officer, Pete Russell said that the Caribbean is blessed with some of the most exciting cricketers in the world, and it is fantastic news that all West Indies players will be available in 2018.

“It will help make the Biggest Party in Sports even bigger,” he stated.

Johnny Grave, CEO of Cricket West Indies, said: “The Hero CPL is now the start of our domestic season and we are delighted that we have found a window when all of the best cricketers from the Caribbean will be available to take part. We are sure that 2018 will be the biggest season yet.”

Local franchise, the St. Kitts-Nevis Patriots will be looking to further this year, after coming off their best showing last year.

The team made it to the finals but just lost out to the Trinbago Knight Riders by three wickets in a low scoring encounter.
