Flood-Resilient Smart Communities To Receive Financing

    GIS, 6 February 2018 - The Government of the British Virgin Islands has received financing from the Community Disaster Risk Reduction Fund towards the cost of implementing and establishing Flood-Resilient SMART Communities.

     

    The fund is managed by the Caribbean Development Bank (CDB) and will be undertaken through Non-Governmental Organisation Partnerships Project. A portion of the proceeds of this financing will be applied to eligible payments under a contract for which this invitation is issued.

    The Department of Disaster Management (DDM) is the Executing Agency for the project and is now procuring consultancy services for the following:

    Development of a SMART School Inspectors Course and Conducting SMART School Assessment Training.

    Civil Engineer to Provide Drainage Design and Construction Supervision Services.

    Design and Implementation of Pilot Community Recycling Projects.

    The objective of the consultancies are to ensure the efficient and effective management and monitoring of all aspects of the implementation of the required designs and related works, in compliance with the policies and guidelines of the Caribbean Development Bank (CDB).The duration of the assignments will range from five to six months. 

    Interested eligible Individual consultants are now invited to submit Expressions of Interest indicating relevant specific experience, qualifications, capability to carry out the assignment, and knowledge of local conditions, required to provide the consultancy services.

    Emails should be sent to DDM at email address bviddm@surfbvi.com and copied to the CDB at email address procurement@caribank.org for additional information on the advertised consultancies. The deadline for submission has been extended to no later than 3:30 p.m. Friday, February 16.
