BASSETERRE, St. Kitts, Feb.08.2018 – MINISTER of Culture, Hon. Shawn Richards has confirmed that the police will be instituting charges against those persons whose sexual videos were circulating via social media after the Carnival Parade.
The videos which circulated quickly, saw several women engaging in sexual acts - including oral sex- in full view in downtown Basseterre, following the grand parade.
“I had a discussion with the Commissioner of police about that and he told me that they did investigate and very shortly he had expected charges to be laid against the individuals who were involved,” said Richards.
Contacted today for a comment, Deputy Commissioner of Police, Hilroy Brandy indicated that charges have not been laid in the matter, as investigations are ongoing.
However, he urged persons not to engage in sexual practices in public, since that is an offense.
“You cannot go around exposing yourself. That is a charge. That is exposing your person in public.”
He is also reminding persons not to circulate sexually related videos.
