BASSETERRE, St. Kitts - The twin-island Federation of St. Kitts and Nevis has recorded its 14th homicide for the year with the shooting death of 24-year-old Randy Daniel.
Daniel was gunned down at about 9:50 p.m. tonight (July 10th) in Tank Village, Upper Cayon by an unknown assailant.
According to reports reaching SKNVibes, while Daniel was about to park his car in a yard in Tank Village, a lone gunman on foot fired a number of shots at him. He was wounded, and as he exited the vehicle and attempted to evade his attacker by running towards the house in the yard, he came under a hail of bullets and immediately succumbed to his injuries.
The police were notified and they arrived some five minutes after the incident, but by that time the gunman had already made good his escape.
The police are appealing to persons with information that could lead to the arrest and conviction of the gunman to call the criminal investigation department at 465-2241 ext.220, 230 or 236. Individuals may also call the crime hotline at 707.
