ICWI makes donation to Natta Memorial Foundation

By: VhCommunications, Press Release

27th February, 2018 -- The Insurance Company of the West Indies (ICWI) (St. Kitts & Nevis) made a donation to the William Marcus Natta Memorial Scholarship Fund in support of primary school students.

A cheque in the amount of $500.00 was handed over to Dr. Marcus Natta by ICWI Business Development Officer Ms. Nordia Dobbs in a ceremony held 26th February, at the company’s head office at Bird Rock.

In handing over the donation, Ms. Dobbs said, “Dr. Natta, we greatly admire your work in encouraging primary school students of St. Kitts and Nevis to aspire towards academic and civic excellence. These are issues that we feel strongly about, and ICWI is pleased to continue supporting social programs in the federation, especially those surrounding primary school students and education. I wish you the very best in your endeavour.”

Dr. Natta, responding to the ICWI donation, said, “I thank you, on behalf of the Board of Trustees of the William Marcus Natta Memorial Scholarship Fund for this timely donation. It will go a long way in supporting our efforts for the third annual scholarship program, which is on 14th April. So, thank you very much, ICWI, and we look forward to your future participation.”

The William Marcus Natta Memorial Scholarship Fund was started on 10th April, 2010. The scholarship fund supports primary school students in grades 5 and 6, and it is geared towards those students who show strong civic mindedness.

“We really encourage that, but we also want good academics, as well as supporting families of those students who are in need. So, we want to reach out to those students who come from tough circumstances but still do well in school,” Dr. Natta said.

ICWI is one of the region’s most progressive insurance companies currently serving eight Caribbean countries, including St. Kitts & Nevis, with a wide range of insurance products and services.
