BASSETERRE, St. Kitts – THE family and friends of Kaden Lewi can now breathe easier, as the 19-year-old student of the Windsor University School of Medicine (WUSM) was found yesterday (July 12) by members of the Royal St. Christopher and Nevis Police Force.

A Police Press and Public Relations communiqué informed that the report was filed by WUSM administration early Sunday morning when Lewi failed to return from a solo hike of Mt. Liamigua.

The student began the trek at 10:40 a.m. on Saturday (July 11) and had sent a text message to a friend indicating his whereabouts, but the friend did not read the message until 7:00 p.m. that evening.

After WUSM officials notified the police of Lewi’s disappearance, a search team comprising members of the Police Force, Fire and Rescue Services, the Royal St. Christopher and Nevis Defence Force and WUSM staff was formed. Shortly before noon, the student was found over a hillside in a dry river bed on the way to Mt. Liamigua.

According to the release, “[Lewi] reported he had fallen and sustained minor bruises to his hands, legs and face, and had lost his cell phone in the process. Consequently, he lost his orientation and was unable to find his way back.”

He was subsequently taken to the Joseph N. France Hospital for medical examination, where he was found to be in good health.

With one missing persons’ case successfully solved, SKNVibes contacted Police Press and Public Relations Officer Inspector Cromwell Henry for an update on investigations in relation to another young man gone missing recently – Andrew Samuel.

Samuel, who was last seen in Ottley’s Village, has been missing since June 28.

Henry said there was nothing new to report, but reassured that police were following “any and all” leads and were in daily contact with Samuel’s family.

A monetary reward is being offered by his girlfriend for his safe return. And in the Comments section of this online media house, another monetary reward was offered by an overseas-based individual.

There's not much I can do from overseas, but my father and I would like to offer US$1,000 to the person who will turn in the killer or provide information that leads to the apprehension of Randy's murderer...Somebody knows something, let the guilty rot in jail. Don't let this tragedy fade away,” the comment read.
