THE VALLEY, Anguilla – THE Miss Anguilla Pageant Committee has announced the names of the four contestants who will be competing for the coveted title.

The contestants who will be competing for the coveted title on Thursday, August 6 are: Miss Caribbean Cable Communications Delvicia Mac Donna; Miss Ministry of Social Development Kishma King; Miss Ministry of Finance, Economic Development, Commerce, Investments and Tourism Samantha Connor Moore; and Miss Ministry of Infrastructure, Communications, Utilities, Housing, Agriculture and Fisheries Sangrena Harris.

The mission of the pageant is to empower, edify and encourage women to assume greater ownership and exceed their maximum potential in their everyday lives.

The Miss Anguilla Pageant is said to be a great way for young women to promote their strengths, talents and achievements.
On Sunday, July, 26, the Swimsuit and Costume Competition will be held and is described as one of the most anticipated presentations of the Miss Anguilla National Queen Pageant.

The Swimsuit segment is said to be the favorite amongst all, for it is the ultimate platform to demonstrate personal courage, as the contestants awake the imagination in their fabulous swimsuits and display of their physique.

The Costume segment is also a favorite, as it epitomises the true nature of carnival celebration with elaborate costume designs and color as well as the body movement that is essential to the celebrations.

Then it will be the grand finale on Thursday, August 6, which is one of the best-attended shows of the summer festival, with contestants competing in the final four segments that complete the pageant.

The contestants will compete in the Introductory Speech, Talent, Evening Wear and Interview.

The scores from the Swimsuit and Costume segments of the previous week will be added to the finale scores to determine the winner.

The reigning Miss Anguilla is 18-year-old Fanny Richardson, an insurance clerk currently employed by Malliouhana Anico Insurance Company Limited.

Richardson strongly believes that "we can be whatever we want to be in this life and success can be achieved through hard work and determination”.

Richardson declared that she is prepared for and determined to succeed in life, regardless of the challenges thrown at her. With that as her motto, she is well on her way to becoming a phenomenal woman.
