BASSETERRE, St. Kitts, Mar. 06.2018 – FOLLOWING a post-mortem examination on the bodies of the Finch sisters who were murdered last week, the police are reporting that one died as a result of strangulation.
According to reports, the examinations were conducted yesterday (Mar. 05) by Forensic Pathologist, Dr. Valery Alexandrov, who determined that the cause of death of 19-year-old Naomi Finch was due to homicidal manual strangulation.
In the case of her 20-year-old sister, Jimmyliah Finch, Dr. Alexandrov ruled that she died as a result of multiple homicidal chop wounds with partial decapitation.
On Thursday March 1, police responded to reports of a stabbing incident in the Keys area.
After turning up to a house, police officers found the motionless bodies of the two sisters.
That incident sent a shockwave throughout the Keys community and saw politicians and government agencies condemning violence against women.
Police have since charged 34-year-old Orvis Pogson of Keys Village with the murders.
