BASSETERRE, St. Kitts, Mar. 12.2018 – THE semi-finals of the FA Cup is set and the FLOW Cayon Rockets FC, RAMS Village Superstars, SOL Island Auto Conaree FC and Winners Circle Newtown United have all progressed.
Playing first game on a doubleheader Sunday (Mar. 11), Winners Circle Newtown United needed penalties to see-off H.E. Garden Hotspurs, 4-3.
Keon Battice opened the scoring in the 5th minute for Newtown, but a 42nd minute strike from Dajhal Kelly forced the game into overtime, as the teams failed to break the deadlock.
In the second game, SOL Island Auto Conaree brushed aside S.L. Horsford St. Paul’s 3-1.
A double strike from Orlando Mitchum was enough to see his team through to the next round.
Kadeem Lewis broke the deadlock in the 5th minute for Conaree, but Ajah Jules equalized in the 32nd.
But attack plays by Conaree saw them to victory; with Mitchum striking in the 37th and 71st minutes.
In the other two quarterfinals played on Saturday (Mar. 10), Cayon Rockets FC and RAMS Village Superstars have booked their spots in the next round.
Playing on a chilly evening at Warner Park Football Stadium, Carlos Bertie netted in the 25th minute to book Cayon Rockets FC a spot in the next round - with a 1-nil win over Fast Cash Saddlers.
RAMS Village Superstars had a much easier time in their quarterfinal encounter when they hammered Elco Limited St. Peters 4-1 at the same venue.
