BASSETERRE, St. Kitts, Mar. 13.2018 – IN an effort to bring awareness to the work of the Eastern Caribbean Supreme Court (ECSC), the body opened a three-day exhibition yesterday, highlighting the work of that judicial institution.

The exhibition, which officially opened this morning at the sir Llewelyn Moore Judicial Complex in Basseterre, is free to the public but is primarily geared towards children.

A number of years are on display at the exhibition, where persons will be given a detailed explanation of books and functions of the institution.

Attorney General Vincent Byron Jr. told reporters that he was happy with the work of the institution, explaining that they have grown significantly over the years.

He added that the body has made a number of changes over the years which have affected the democracies in the region.

The AG said that even after 50 years, they have established themselves and remained independent.

The celebration is being recognized under the theme: ‘Celebrating the past and embracing the future’.

Justice of Appeal, Her Ladyship, Gertel Thom commended those involved in the exhibition, pointing out that it has been a wonderful activity.

She said that it has exceeded her expectations as the Chair of the Anniversary Committee.

“I am really pleased and excited about the work that has gone into preparing the exhibition, and I am certain that the public in general in St. Kitts and Nevis would be well informed and well advised to view this exhibition as there is a lot to be learnt from our past and what we intend to do for the future in terms of justice in the region.”

Thom commended the St. Kitts organizers for the work that they put in to host the event.
