ECSRC Recognises Commissioners

    Basseterre, St Kitts 14 March 2018 -- The Eastern Caribbean Securities Regulatory Commission (ECSRC) hosted a special luncheon in St Kitts and Nevis on 6 March, to recognise the service of Commissioners, Sir Errol N Allen, His Excellency Ambassador Arthur G B Thomas and Mr Ambrose M J Sylvester for their long and dedicated service to the Commission.

     

    Sir Errol N Allen, a native of St Vincent and the Grenadines and the former Deputy Governor of the Eastern Caribbean Central Bank, was first appointed as a Commissioner to the ECSRC in October 2001. Sir Errol, who currently serves as the Chairman of the ECSRC was recognised for his distinguished service to the ECSRC for over 16 years. As one of the founding Commissioners, Sir Errol brought to the ECSRC, an exemplary public service record, a wealth of experience and the passion and principles of a strong regulator. The ECSRC applauds the commitment and personal sacrifice of Sir Errol in helping to build the foundation for securities regulation in the Eastern Caribbean Currency Union.
    His Excellency Ambassador Arthur G B Thomas of Antigua and Barbuda, was first appointed to the ECSRC in October 2007 and currently serves as the Deputy Chairman. Ambassador Thomas was recognised for his over 10 years’ of committed and dedicated service as Commissioner of the ECSRC. Ambassador Thomas continues to give generously of his time to support the work of the ECSRC. 

    Mr Ambrose M J Sylvester, a native of the Commonwealth of Dominica, who was first appointed to the ECSRC on 19 October 2007, served as a Commissioner until his retirement on 18 October 2017. During his tenure, Commissioner Sylvester approached his tasks as Commissioner with dedication and high level of professionalism, which assisted in no small measure in advancing the development, regulation and supervision of the Eastern Caribbean Securities Market (ECSM). 
                 
    The ECSRC was created following the establishment of the Eastern Caribbean Securities Market (ECSM) and is the primary authority for the regulation of participants and activities in the market. The Commission’s overall function is to promote a safe environment for investing on the ECSM.
