Police confirm no sexual assault of Juvenile

    BASSETERRE, St. Kitts, Mar. 19.2018 – FOLLOWING reports that an 11-year-old was sexually assaulted, the police are now confirming that no such act was perpetrated against that juvenile.
     
    Reports surfaced and were confirmed by the police that a juvenile was physically and sexually assaulted by two men.
     
    In a follow-up statement issued on Saturday (Mar. 17), the Public Relations Department stated that no harm was done to the juvenile and that the matter was referred to the Child Protection Agency. 
     
    “We are happy to inform that no physical harm was done to the child and that the Probation and Child Protection Services is now involved to ensure that the necessary follow-up measures are taken to assist the child in every way possible.”
     
    But the police have indicated that further investigations in that incident revealed that the child did experience an traumatic situation but not as reported.
     
    Against that backdrop, they are calling for privacy for the child and her family at this time.
