BASSETERRE, St. Kitts, Mar. 25.2018 – ATHLETES from the Charles E. Mills Secondary School (CEMSS) laid down a strong performance on Day 2 of the TDC-sponsored Interschool Championships at the Kim Collins Athletics Stadium, to remain in pole position and retain their title.
The institution has thus far claimed 37 medals - 16 Golds, 9 Silvers and 12 Bronze - 11 more than second placed Washington Archibald High School.
The Charlestown Secondary School is running in a distant third with a total of 19 medals, with the Basseterre High School in fourth with 18.
The action continues today, with a number of sprint events, including the fan-favourite relay segment.
Principal at the CEMSS, Boris Connor told SKNVibes recently that they were confident of a win.
“We do the work, we do the math and know what the conditions are and what is required of us,” said Connor.
He expressed that confidence despite losing some of the institution's top athletes through graduation.
“We are more than confident that we can come out on top again despite the absence of those athletes.”
Meanwhile, the St. Kitts- Nevis Amateur Athletics Association has confirmed that there are a number of tickets available for the Grounds and Metal Stands.
Today’s action gets underway from 12:00 p.m. with the ticket booths opening from 10:00 a.m.
