Federation represented by 20 athletes for CARIFTA Games

    BASSETERRE, St. Kitts, Mar. 31.2018 – A 24-member delegation will be flying the flag of St. Kitts and Nevis at the 2018 CARIFTA Games in Nassau, Bahamas this year.
     
    The Games, which opens today, will see 20 athletes representing the Federation on the track and in the field.
     
    Several notable names have been confirmed for the games, including the likes of Jahnaza Francis, Dimetre Browne, Leroy Chapman and Junior Rouse.      
     
    The St. Kitts-Nevis Amateur Athletics Association (SKNAAA) recently released the names of the delegation currently in the Bahamas for the games.
     
    Led by Team Manager Denville Francis, the team’s delegation comprises Stewart Joseph as Assistant Manager, Roatter Johnson as Head Coach and Kurvin Wallace as Assistant Coach.
     
    With, Sharim Hamilton (Male- 400m, 400H, 4x400m), Timothy Caines (Male -800m, 1500m, 4x400m), Junior Rouse (Male -200m, 400m, 4x400m), D'atyrel Stanley (Male - 4x400m) competing in the Under -17 categories.
     
    Additionally, Trishanni Warner (Under 17 Female -800m, 400m, 4x400m), Khalia Joseph (Under 17 Female -400m, 4x400m), Keneah Romney (Under 17 Female-800m, 1500m, 4x400m), Tijuanique Morton (Under 17 Female 200m, 4x400m), Zahria Allers-Liburd (Under 17 Female- 100m, 200m, 4x400m) will all feature.
     
    In the Under 20 categories, Leroy Chapman (Under 20 Male- 800m), Jahnaza Francis (Under 20 Male - 400H, 4x100m), Dimetre Browne (Under 20 Male - Long Jump, 4x100m), Marcus Duberry (Under 20 Male -100m, 4x100m), Tajarie Arthurton (Under 20 Male -100m, 200m, 4x100m).
     
    Leondre Francis, Reandra Richards, Amya Clarke, Aliah Vanterpool, Nickeisha Howe and Jerencia Jeffers make up the Girls Under-20 category.
     
    In commending the athletes SKNAAA President Val Henry said: “This group of athletes selected represents the future of track and field here in the Federation of St. Kitts and Nevis, and the entire SKNAAA executive, as well as the Selection Committee, have every confidence that they will go out and represent the nation to the best of their abilities and be proud ambassadors of the twin island Federation.
     
    “I would want to express my most heartfelt congratulations to these athletes and the management team and wish them every success at the 2018 CARIFTA Games.”
     
    Henry and the SKNAAA’s General Secretary, Mr. Keithley Phillip will also be attending the CARIFTA Congress which will be held on Monday.
