Increased numbers of seizures for the first quarter of 2018

    BASSETERRE, ST. KITTS, 31ST MARCH, 2018 - During the first three months of 2018, the St. Kitts – Nevis Customs and Excise Department, has seen an increase in the number seizures of contraband.
     
    There were a total of six seizures over the said period, accounting for the seizure of cannabis, with a street value of approximately $450,000.00 ECD, one pistol with a matching magazine, and cocaine, the most recent seizure being that of cannabis, which was seized on Monday 26th March, 2018. The said seizures are presently under investigation.

    The Acting Comptroller of Customs commends officers of the CED for their diligence, and ensures the general public, that the CED is committed to improving its capability to interdict illicit cross border activities and bring to justice the perpetrators of such illegal activities.
