Garden Hotspurs credits success to the return of ‘Pepe’

April 17th, 2018 -- A coaching change is being praised for a renewed focus and a 3-1 win over the Elco Ltd. St. Peters in the National Bank Premier league on Sunday night. Hobson Enterprises Garden Hotspurs were on the winning end of that result and according to captain Hasani Flemming, getting back their old Coach Elvis Pepe Isaac is helping the team to play fluent team football in the final round of the season before playoffs. Their previous coach St. Clair Morris was relieved of his duties before the resumption of the premier league after the Easter break. The team was in second place in the league at the time of this decision.

“Our focus was really on pressing the ball and wining every time we lose it. Less than five seconds, we got to get it back and as you could see we put out that and we won the game,” Fleming said. Asked about what the loss to Rams Village Superstars last week did for the team this week, he referred to Coach ‘Pepe’ helping to bring back the momentum in the team. “We didn’t really feel that bad about the loss last week knowing that we get back our old coach. The main focus was getting back together. Just building back the chemistry because we lost it and now that the chemistry is back, it’s just full force going down straight to (final four),” the Spurs captain said.
