Cayon records second defeat, suffers 6-nil drubbing

    BASSETERRE, St. Kitts, Apr. 16.2018 – FLOW 4G Cayon Rockets suffered its second straight defeat in the 2018 Caribbean Club Shield competition, currently ongoing in the Dominican Republic.
     
    The team Sunday (Apr. 15) received a 6-nil drubbing by Martinique's Club Franciscain.
     
    That hammering followed a closely fought defeat on Friday (Apr. 13), where they were edged out 2-1 by Bodden Town FC.
     
    Playing at the Universidad Isa, a hat trick from Club Franciscain, Timon Yann, were enough to propel the team one step closer to the semi-finals.
     
    According to the Concacaf, Yann netted in the 29th, 45th and 62nd minutes, teammate Djenhael Maine struck a double in the 16th and 22nd minutes to set the pace for his side in the first half.
     
    Stephane Abaul rubbed salt in the proverbial wound when he netted in the 63rd minute.
     
    The result means that the team from St. Kitts and Nevis has been eliminated from the competition and will play their final game as a formality.
     
    In other results, Bodden Town FC and Centro Dominguito battle to a 0-0 draw, while Inter Moengotapoe defeated Barbados' Weymouth Wales 5-0.
