National Trust and Museum to Host Art Exhibition

By: (The St. Christopher National Trust), Press Release

(The St. Christopher National Trust) April 10, 2018: The St. Christopher National Trust and National Museum is calling for Artists to submit pieces for an upcoming Exhibition, slated to run during the annual St. Kitts Music Festival period.

The invitation is extended to all local/resident artists to submit works for the exhibition which will be opened to the public from Friday May 18th to Friday July 13th 2018. The exhibit will be mounted in the National Museum Special Exhibit Room.

“The National Trust is excited about creating opportunities for our local artist to present their work to the public over an extended period of time and, having it hosted during the premier music festival of the island will give the artists greater exposure to a larger and more diversified audience” says National Trust Executive Director, Ryllis Percival.

The inspiration for this exhibition is “music” and there is no limit to either the medium or the number of pieces each artist can submit.

There is no submission fee and artists will be allowed to sell their pieces, if they so desire, with a percentage of all sales going towards the National Trust’s building restoration fund. As part of the exhibition, the Trust will feature a digital catalogue of all pieces on display for review by potential buyers.

“Promoting our history and culture is one of the objectives of the St. Christopher National Trust” says Ms. Percival “and this exhibition provides a perfect occasion for us to partner with artists to showcase our culture to the world. Citizens are therefore encouraged to come and not only view our culture on display, but support the Trust in its fund raising efforts towards our restoration work”.

The registration deadline is Friday April 27th and pieces are to be delivered to the National Trust offices by Friday, May 4th. Artists are also being asked by that time to submit photographs of their works for inclusion in our digital catalogue (optional).

For more information or to register, artists can contact the National Trust offices at 465-5584 or email toni@stchristophernationaltrust.kn.
