Woodley charged for Pemberton’s death

    BASSETERRE, St. Kitts, Apr. 19.2018-  POLICE yesterday (Apr. 18) charged Kyle Woodley of Newton Ground on a warrant, in the first instance, for the offense of Causing Death by Dangerous Driving that resulted in the death of Private Kechel Pemberton.
     
    Woodley is currently in Police custody for the accident that occurred on April 13.
     
    According to the police’s investigation, Woodley who is the owner of motor vehicle P9122, was driving along the island main road towards Sandy Point.
     
    While in the vicinity of the gas station at Brimstone Hill, Woodley attempted to overtake another vehicle, and in doing so, he lost control of the car and collided with a pole. The vehicle spun in the air and landed on a private property next to the Island Main Road.

    Pemberton was in the front passenger seat at the time of the accident without his seatbelt buckled. He was flung from the vehicle.
     
    A post mortem examination was performed on the body of Private Pemberton on April 16 by Resident Pathologist, Dr. Adrian Nunez.
     
    Dr. Nunez concluded that the death was as a result of hypovolemic shock and multiple traumatic injuries due to a traffic accident.  
     
    Prime Minister and Minister of National Security, Dr. Timothy Harris has expressed condolences to the family of the deceased.
     
    “The national security community is a close-knit one, so this is a loss being felt deeply by the men and women who served with Private Pemberton – their friend, colleague and brother-in-arms,
     
    “May his family and everyone else who loved him be of good courage and find comfort and strength by trusting in God’s grace, love, mercy and plan for each and every one of us.”
