Police charge juvenile with Pizzeria robbery

    CHARLESTOWN, Nevis, Apr. 30 – Nevis police have slapped charges on a juvenile following Wednesday’s (Apr. 25) robbery at Mem’s Pizzeria in Prospect Gardens.  

     

    According to a police report, they responded to a call of an armed robbery at about 9:18 p.m. on Wednesday and upon arrival found the staff and customers of the Pizzeria outside of the establishment.

    “They [staff and customers] reported that they were robbed of personal items by two individuals. Police enquiries revealed that the masked gunmen ran in the direction of Brown Hill and the Officers set off in hot pursuit. They caught one juvenile with items believed to be those stolen from persons at the Pizzeria. He was taken into custody,” police confirmed in a statement.

    A second suspect was taken into police custody.

    On Saturday (Apr.28), the juvenile was charged by police for the offence of “Armed Robbery” in the presence of his father.

    The second suspect held in relation to the robbery is still in Police custody.
     
    Investigations into the matter are ongoing.
