BASSETERRE, St. Kitts, May 07.2018 – POLICE have confirmed that two employees of the Tomorrow’s Supermarket in Old Road were injured in last evening’s (May 06) robbery.
At approximately 8 p.m., police officers received a call of an armed robbery at the Chinese establishment.
Several units responded; and their investigations thus far revealed that at the end of their shift, employees exited through a door which led into an alley.
While making their way to a vehicle, they were held up by four masked assailants, two of whom were armed.
“The assailants demanded their money and two (2) shots were fired at the employees. Twenty-seven-year-old, Jian Qian Su who resides in McKnight was shot several times about the body, while Qiao Ting Shu of Market Street was grazed by a bullet on her leg. Jian Qian Su was transported to the J.N.F. Hospital where he is listed as being in a stable condition and Qiao Ting Shu was transported to the J.N.F. Hospital via private vehicle where she was treated and discharged,” police said in a statement.
The police force’s Public Relations Department did not indicate if anything items or cash were taken during the incident.
According to the police, the scene was processed and a number of items of evidential value were taken into custody.
“Searches were also carried out by Police Officers and Soldiers from the St. Kitts and Nevis Defence Force. Police investigations into the matter are ongoing,” the statement added.
