PAM celebrates Labour Day with supporters

By: Staff Reporter, SKNVibes.com
BASSETERRE, St. Kitts, May. 08. 2018 – THE People’s Action Movement (PAM) on Monday (May 08) continued with its annual tradition of playing host to its supporters on Labour Day.

The party had its annual open day, where it held a breakfast and fun day to bring supporters together.

Chairman of the PAM, Jonel Powell told reporters that the open day forms part of a permanent fixture of activities on its calendar.

He said that Labour Day at PAM headquarters is where they start the day off with a breakfast and go until night with persons interacting with their representatives.

“It has been a good day and it is our opportunity to bring the workers of the country here to our home at PAM headquarters for them to interact with members of the party who are in government…”

Powell stated that the general idea of Labour Day for the People’s Action Movement is to show appreciation for what the workers are doing for St. Kitts and Nevis.

“The message is that we must appreciate the workers of this country. And this is a reminder of just that, of the responsibility that we have as people – not only in government but also outside,” he added.

The young politicians noted that the social activity creates an opportunity where they can hear from the workers and listen to the challenges that they are faced with.

“It is really an acknowledgment of the workers of this country, who keep the country running,” Powell stated.

The various ministers of government from the People’s Action Movement were present, interacting and socializing with the public.
