Public Works Week 2018 (May 13th to 19th)

Each year during the month of May, the Public Works Department celebrates “Public Works Week.” During this week, activities are engaged in to promote public awareness of the importance of Public Infrastructure: Roads, Government Buildings, Vehicle Maintenance, Quarrying and the Engineering and Construction Sector.

This year “Public Works Week” will run from May 13th – 19th under the theme: “PWD – Serving the Community.” Public Works Week celebrates the vital role which Public Works (or Public Infrastructure) plays in connecting us as a community. Just think of how our streets, roads, bridges, and public transportation keep us linked together and ultimately assure a higher quality of life for our communities.

The professionals who work in this vital sector are committed and proud of the contribution which they make in ensuring that our Public Infrastructure are safely maintained.

Amongst the highlights of our Week of Activities are: Staff of the Public Works Department will worship at the “Rivers of Living Water” Church on Sunday May 13th; a staff exchange with Nevis; Walk-a-thon and health check; schools open day; and a visit to Monserrat over the Wit Weekend.
