By: Andre Huie, Press Release

May 16th, 2018 -- A 1-0 victory was all it took for defending National Bank Premier League Champions Flow 4G Cayon Rockets to get one step closer to qualifying for the Final Four Playoffs. Cayon edged Montserrat Antilles Plastic Newtown F.C. 1-0 on Tuesday night at the Warner Park Football Stadium in one of seven matches needed for the back to back champs to complete their round 3 matches in a bid to make the playoffs.

Coach George Yellowman Isaac of Cayon was pleased with the performance of his team. “It wasn’t that bad coming off a game on Sunday. I just want to congratulate these guys,” he said of his team. Asked whether his players will recover in time for another big match on Thursday, he said: “We just have to manage and stay focused on the task ahead of us and we just got to come out and play the game. We can’t come with faults and excuses, we just have to play the game,” Coach Isaac said.

Meanwhile, the former national player believes his team is confident enough to make the Final Four. “We are confident enough to go out and play football and play it in a positive way. We just got to come out and play…find the right spirit to play and come out victorious in every game we play,” Coach Isaac added.

Still it’s no time to rest for the defending champs as they play again in one of the biggest matches of the season. At 6pm Thursday Flow 4G Cayon Rockets will do battle with perennial final four playoff team S.L. Horsfords St. Pauls that are also in contention for a final four spot. Cayon must win this match to stay in the hunt and St. Pauls would prefer three points to get closer to conforming their spot in the playoffs.
