… Oualie Beach Hotel the target
CHARLESTOWN, Nevis, May 20, 2018 -- LAW enforcement officers on Nevis are carrying out an investigation into an armed robbery that occurred on Friday (May 18) at the Oualie Beach Hotel.
According to preliminary investigations by the police, the security guard at the Hotel was accosted by two masked individuals. He was beaten in the head with what is believed to be a firearm, then pulled inside to the reception desk.
The police said that the receptionist was then held at gunpoint and forced to open the vault. A sum of money was taken from the vault and a number of personal items, including money were also taken from the security guard before the assailants fled the scene.
According to the police, the Charlestown Police Station received an armed robbery report at about 8:45 p.m. and Officers responded.
Officers reportedly searched the immediate and surrounding areas, and interviewed a number of persons. Police investigations into the matter are ongoing. Anyone with information regarding this incident are urged to call the Charlestown Police Station at 469-5391 or their nearest Police Station.
