CHARLESTOWN, Nevis – REPRESENTATIVES of the Bank of Nevis visited the Cricket Coaching Clinic at Grove Park on Friday (July 17) to witness first hand some of the skills and social graces being learnt by the youthful cricketers attending the programme.
The Bank executives, consisting of Operations Manager Lorna Hunkins, Marketing Officer Bronte Swanston-Hendrickson and Card Services Manager Sonia Bowen-Tuckett, also took time out to speak with the children.
Hunkins spoke to the youngsters on general banking principles and, more specifically, services that are provided by the Bank of Nevis. The session proved to be very interactive and Hunkins had to promise to return for a second session to field more questions.
Swanston-Hendrickson encouraged the children to grasp the opportunities they have been afforded with both hands. She was also high in praise of Carl Tuckett, chief organiser of the Clinic.
She also made a presentation of some cricket gears to Kameel Wilkin of the Ivor Walters Primary School, who was the premier student in the recent Test of Standards with an average of over 90 percent.
Swanston-Hendrickson implored the parents to allow their children to be a part of the Clinic and to note its overriding value. She said that without a doubt, children could blend sports with education and be successful in both areas.
Former West Indies player Elquemedo Willet was also presented with a souvenir gift from the Bank for his role in the progress of Leeward Islands cricket.
The Clinic is currently in its second and final week.
