DC wants money in pockets not body in caskets!

By: Cherisse M. Sutton-Jeffers, SKNVibes
BASSETERRE, St. Kitts - “WE want money in a pocket not body in a casket. De war ting dem fi cease it; can’t believe say another one dead.” These are the words to the chorus of DC’s latest reggae tune, titled ‘Can’t Believe’.

Born Dujon Cesar, DC said that he was inspired to write the song because of the current escalating crime situation in the Federation.

“I am a humble, righteous person. I don’t get involved in any kind of violence. Music is what I love and I don’t rate de crime thing, so I just try to put it into a song to persuade the youths to take heed and walk away from war,” said the singer.

“I hope my song encourages people to think twice and also to get off the streets and get a job. I may not be able to reach all but if I can reach one person that is a start,” he added.

The self-written song, according to the 19-year-old, was recorded at Liquid Line Studios and was released yesterday (July 20) via PEP Radio. Can’t Believe also has a video which was shot in May by young aspiring video director MKJ.

The video, which was shot in Sandy Point, highlights several conflicts between young men and also displays clips of various stories and pictures on SKNVibes of individuals who lost their lives to criminal activity.

When asked about his future plans, the young Sandy Pointer said he is currently working on a mix tape to be release sometime in August. He added that he also has plans on launching his own label called Lock-Off Entertainment, from where he would be managing artistes.

DC is also known for other songs such as ‘Judgment Time’, ‘Good Love’ and ‘Loveable’.
