Nevis records another homicide

    CHARLESTOWN, Nevis, June 3. 2018 – THE federation has recorded yet another homicide when police found the lifeless body of 19-year-old Jamie Chapman of Clay Ghaut. Nevis.
     
    According to the police force, at around 9:45 p.m. on Friday (June 01), a report of a shooting at Clay Ghaut was received at the Charlestown Police Station.
     
    Police said that they responded, and inquiries led them to the home of 32-year-old Kimron Lawrence in Chicken Stone.  Upon checking the said area, they found the lifeless body of Chapman lying in the yard with what appeared to be a gunshot wound to the head.
     
    One Ruger Revolver loaded with five rounds of ammunition and one spent shell were found on the scene next to the body.
     
    “Inside the house, they found Lawrence in a room with what appeared to be a gunshot wound to his leg,” police said.
     
    The District Medical Officer visited the scene and pronounced Chapman dead.
    Lawrence was subsequently transported to the Alexandra Hospital by the Emergency Medical Service where he is currently warded and being treated for his injury.
     
    Investigations into the incident are ongoing, and persons with information are urged to call the Charlestown Police Station at 469-5391, 469-5392 or their nearest police station.
