Richard Dodd to step down as LIME CEO; COO David Shaw to replace him

CEO Richard Dodd
Press Release

07/21/09: LIME, the Caribbean's only full-service telecoms provider, today announces that Richard Dodd has decided to step down as Chief Executive after 18 months of leading the business. David Shaw, LIME's Chief Operating officer, has been appointed as Chief Executive, and will continue the strategy of transforming the Caribbean business. David Shaw will take up the role after a short handover.

Richard Dodd has decided to step down after leading LIME through the first phase of the company’s One Caribbean transformation programme, bringing together 13 separate operations into a single entity and creating the foundation for a truly pan-Caribbean business.  Having successfully executed the first phase of the programme, he has decided to return to the UK.

David Shaw will lead the next phase of the transformation programme, which will focus on creating a customer-centric business and culture at LIME. He has strong experience in the telecoms industry having been part of the senior executive teams that transformed UK telecoms operator Energis and then Cable & Wireless Worldwide (the UK-based arm of Cable & Wireless Group) before joining LIME.

Tony Rice, the CEO of CWI (formerly Cable & Wireless International), and the parent company of LIME commented:
"I would like to thank Richard for his contribution to LIME and to CWI. He has led the business in the critical initial phase of our transformation programme, refocusing it on service and restoring its competitiveness. I am very pleased to have someone of David’s capability and experience to continue the transformation of the LIME business. He is ideally suited to the task of developing this business and its culture, to put our customers at the centre of everything we do."

Richard Dodd, the outgoing CEO of LIME, commented:
"LIME is a great business and I am very pleased with what we have achieved, as a team during my time here. We have reshaped the business, bringing together 13 individual businesses and creating a business with a new identity and a new purpose. We have improved service levels and taken significant steps in improving the business long-term competitiveness. I have enjoyed my time here immensely, and I’m confident the business is on the right path."
