BASSETERRE, St. Kitts - AFTER bringing you one of the hottest and most talked about songs in the Federation, ‘Tell Me Why’, many people were wondering what happened to the singer who calls himself ‘Infamous’.

SKNVIbes PEP caught up with the singer, who wants the world to know that he is still alive and well. It has been non-stop work for the singer writing and recording track after track and preparing for a debut album.

According to Kervin ‘Infamous’ Benjamin, since his hit song that gave him much recognition,  he has recorded a number of other tracks including ‘Missing You’, ‘I’ll Be There’, ‘Gun Town’ and ‘Sipping Coke and Hennessey’, all of which are self-written and have not so far been released.

“Missing You is dedicated to anyone who has lost someone; not only to give them a bit of comfort but also to help them flush out all the emotions and dry their tears,” said Benjamin.

Meanwhile, a video is in the making for the song and will be released sometime next week. Benjamin said the video captures visuals of him losing a friend and was shot in Cayon and areas of the cemetery.

‘Gun Town’, on the other hand, he said simple speaks of what is going on in the Federation while ‘Sipping Coke and Hennessey’ is based on a crab in barrel effect.

“This song is something for bad minded people and deals with reality,” he added.

Both songs will be aired for the first time today (July 23) on PEP Radio at 2:00 p.m. when the 20-year-old stops by the studio to give listeners a teaser of what is to come.

Being known for his football  skills and his physical prowess on the track, this versatile young man is also recognised for his music which landed him the name ‘Infamous’ that he decided to stick with after a friend called him, “The infamous youth.”

Although he has been singing since 1999 when he got his start from fellow villager Shakal Peets, it was only later on that he decided to take it serious.

“Everybody been saying the youth got talent, so I just decided to take it to a next level,” he said. Even though he has not performed on many shows, Benjamin said his musical abilities would be proven on his new tracks.
