BASSETERRE, St. Kitts, June 08. 2018 - RAMS Village Superstars is the first team to have qualified for the finals of the 2017/2018 St. Kitts-Nevis Football Association (SKNFA) Playoffs Finals after they brushed aside Sol Island Auto Conaree 3 - 0.
Playing the second game of a double header evening, Ordell Flemming opened the scoring in the 24th minute, before an own goal deep into the second half by Conaree’s Jazzil Lewis, doubled the lead.
An 85th minute strike by Kimaree Rogers rubbed salt in the proverbial wounds of the Conaree line up.
The defeat for Conaree left them on the bubble to qualify, after they drew in their first-round encounter.
In the other game, S.L Horsford St. Paul’s rebounded from an opening round defeat to Village Superstars to edged out defending Champions Flow 4G Cayon Rockets 1-0.
Kendale Liburd 12th minute strike was enough to push the St. Paul’s team over the top and come away with full points.
Village Superstars now top the round robin table and have qualified for the finals with the maximum of six points from their two games, while St. Paul’s remain in second on three points.
Cayon is in third place with one point with Conaree in fourth place, also with one point.
Each of the latter three teams are still in the hunt for the final qualifying spot with one round left.
A win for Conaree or St. Paul’s will keep either teams alive, while a victory for St. Paul’s will see them automatically qualifying.
Action continues on Sunday June 10, With Sol Island Auto Conaree battling Sl. Horsford St. Paul’s from 6:00 p.m., while Rams Village Superstars comes up against FLOW 4G Cayon from 8:30 p.m.
