Love and Hip Hop Karlie Redd and Hot 97’s Jabba to guest host St. Kitts Music Festival

By: Staff Reporter, SKNVibes.com
BASSETERRE, St. Kitts, June 08.2018 – THE St. Kitts Music Festival is doing it big for its 22nd year with its announcement of its guest hosts Karlie Redd from Love and Hip Hop Atlanta and Hot 97 FM Massive B Sound’s Jabba out of New York.

In a press conference on Tuesday (June 5), Chairman of the Production Committee, Jonel Powell, announced that this year’s Music Festival would be featuring different hosts each night as well as other changes.

The hosts for Thursday will be Pinocchio and Sugar Bowl. Friday night will feature Sweet Sister Sensia and Hot 97’s Jabba while Saturday night will have GQ and Love and Hip Hop Atlanta’s Karlie Redd.

Powell noted that the Committee realized that over the years there were challenges in relation to the changeovers between artistes, adding that with a little discussion with stakeholders and sponsors, a change has been made to the way the Music Festival will flow this year.

He informed that instead of having patrons waiting with no entertainment between acts, a DJ will be featured each night to keep the entertainment alive throughout the changeovers.

Powell explained that the DJ for Thursday night will be one of the two finalists for St. Kitts Music DJ Competition which will be held at Sweet Lime on June 22.

The hosts for Friday night’s show will also DJ as well while Saturday night will see the other finalist from the St. Kitts Music DJ Competition taking the stage to DJ.

Powell encouraged all patrons of the St. Kitts Music Festival to be early this, noting that gates up at 7:00 p.m.

“We want to use this opportunity to encourage persons to come to the Festival on time. We are not going down until 3:00, 4:00 and 5:00 in the morning. We have less artistes and in order for you to get your money’s worth and to see the artistes and see the shows, you have to be on time. We have all headliners and so, coming at 10:00 and 11:00 p.m. fashionably late can mean that you may miss half to three quarters of the show,” Powell emphasized.

Powell went on to announce the opening acts for each night. Thursday night will be opened by Destra, Friday night by Chacka Demus and Pliers and Rhythm of the Beat will be starting Saturday night show.

He stated that the rest of each night’s line up will not be announced as yet, accentuating that patrons must be at the event on time to avoid missing any of the artistes.
