No injuries in early morning shooting Irish Town

    BASSETERRE, St. Kitts, June 20.2018 – THE federation has recorded another shooting incident, but no injuries have been reported.
     
    According to a brief statement from police, there was an early morning shooting incident reported in Irish Town; however, they said that from indications so far, no one was injured in the incident.
     
    Media reports suggest that the shooting incident took place in the Gardens Housing Project, in the vicinity of the Irish Town Primary School, just as students and parents were making their way to the education institution.
     
    Reports further suggest that, a perpetrator jumped out of a vehicle in the area of the Gardens Housing Project and begun firing at a male indiscriminately.
     
    The male ran for safety and the perpetrator gave chase but was unsuccessful.
     
    This latest incident has drawn swift condemnation from politicians on both sides of the political aisle.
     
    Parliamentary Representative for Constituency Two, Hon. Marcella Liburd expressed concern and frustration for teachers of the institution.
     
    Jonel Powell, People’s Action Movement and Team Unity’s Caretaker for Constituency Two also added his displeasure for the growing problem of crime, specifically those relating to guns.
