CHARLESTOWN, Nevis – THE six contestants vying for the 35th Annual Culture Queen Pageant title will showcase their toned bodies and modelling skills on Sunday, July 26, when they compete in the Miss Culture Swimsuit Competition.

Miss Island Tyres and Hardware, Tamerelle Browne; Miss Carib Brewery SKN Ltd, Mika O’brien; Miss LIME, Tatiana Dore; Miss Coastal Air Transport, Masinda Nisbett, Miss St. Kitts-Nevis Development Bank, Kishandra Williams and Miss NAGICO Insurance Cindy Liburd will compete in three swimsuit appearances at the Cultural Complex on Sunday beginning from 8:00 p.m.

The show will also consist of Cultural Woman and Speech presentations where the ‘Sensational Six’ will make a total of five appearances that night.

During the Swimsuit segments, the contestants will make appearance in one-piece, two-piece and a special Breast Cancer Signature swimsuit where they will be judged on how well their bodies are toned, modelling skills and overall presence on stage.
They are also reminded that areas such as muscle tones, proper fit of swimsuits, confidence, grace and poise are also some of the areas the judges will be looking at.

In speaking with contestant number one, Miss Island Tyres and Hardware, she said that preparations are coming along fine although she is having some long nights rehearsing.

“But nothing good comes easy! If you want it, you got to be in it to win it,” she said.

Browne said that for five days a week she goes to the gym each morning between 6-7 a.m. where she gets a great workout.

She pays special attention to her legs and stomach and added that she was definitely looking forward to the Swimsuit Show.
“Of Course I’m looking forward to it; I’m excited to show everyone why I have been going to the gym,” she said.

Miss Carib Brewery SKN Ltd. said her preparations have been coming along well although there have been ups and downs.

O’brien said that she is working on strengthening her legs specifically, as she believes they have a lot to do with the show.

“I’ve been going to the gym and I also do laps around the pool and eat as healthy as I can. I drink lots of water and I also make sure I take my vitamins so I can be up and going,” she said.

Miss LIME said that she is looking forward to the competition and also to the day when the show is over.

“I am ready to go back to my normal life,” she said.

Although she said that going to the gym and the workouts have been difficult as she focuses on her legs and stomach, she is also very confident about the show.

“Modelling is my hobby and I’m confident and ready to shock the general public this weekend,” Dore said.

Miss St. Kitts-Nevis Development Bank said that everything is going great and she has nothing to complain about.

She told SKNVibes that she goes to the gym five days a week and does work on her buttocks, abdominals and legs and does plenty squats.

“My legs are my favorite part of my body and that’s what most people look at. Of course, every now and then I get nervous but generally I’m very excited about it and I’m in it to win it,” Williams said.

The final contestant, Miss Nagico Insurance said that she is very excited about the upcoming Swimsuit Show as it is her favorite part of the pageant, because she enjoys modelling and looks at the show as an opportunity to showcase those skills.

She said that she used to workout at the gym but now does her own exercises at home in her spare time.

“I don’t do any special dieting either. I think my body is in good shape and I would like to invite everyone to come on out to the Cultural Complex on Sunday, as the show promises to be an exciting one,” Liburd said.

SKNVibes was unable to conduct an interview with Miss Coastal Air Transport, Masinda Nisbett, because of scheduling conflict.
