By: JAMKITNEV, Press Release

Basseterre, St Kitts; 14 June 2018 -- On Saturday, 9 June 2018, the Members of the Jamaican Kittitian Nevisian (JamKitNev) Association, the Association of Jamaicans and friends of Jamaicans living in the Federation of St Kitts & Nevis, hosted another successful outing of its JamKitNev Non Nationals Domino Tournament.

The Non Nationals Domino Tournament is the brainchild of one of the Past Presidents of the Association, Leartize (Lee) Graham, who, while he was not able to be physically present at the Event, was with us in spirit throughout the Competition.

The JamKitNev Association expresses special thanks to major sponsors since 2013 - Elco Ltd and Forum Deco;  sponsors since inception in 2009 - Ram's Trading Limited and Warner's One Stop;  sponsor since 2011 - Golf Course Snackette (Ezee Eats-Indian'place);  and sponsor since 2015 - Junie's Shop (Mansion).  Thanks also extended to Marc Williams, Umpire for the Tournament on the third consecutive occasion, and to one of our elder Jamaicans in the Federation, Lewis (Stretch) Smith, for assisting with the presentation of trophies and prizes.  We say thanks for the continued support in assisting us in meeting our objectives, which include engendering camaraderie among various non nationals and nationals.

The 2018 Edition, which was held for the fourth consecutive occasion at Golf Course Snackette (Ezee Eats-Indian's place), got off to a somewhat late start but for many it was worth the wait.

After registration was completed, the gathering ended up with four (4) groups representing JamKitNev Association, SKN Dominican Association, SKN Guyanese Association and SKN Saint Lucian Association.  All teams had a number of Kittitian members.  For the first time there were two (2) female competitors in the Tournament and they represented the JamKitNev Association.  In previous Editions only one female had participated.

When the dust had settled, it was confirmed that the Champions, who now have bragging rights, were the MVPs of the JamKitNev Association Team, Desroy Tate, a previous champion in 2011 and 2013, with a new partner Ricky Johnson!
The defending champions of the JamKitNev Non Nationals Domino Tournament are Winston Belle and Brian Pemberton who were the Most Valuable Players (MVPs) representing the JamKitNev Association's Team for the last edition in December 2015.  Will they be back this year to defend their title?  Time will tell!  Will champions for the 2011 and 2013 and then MVPs for the JamKitNev Association’s Team, Desroy Tate and Anthony Stead, be back this year to challenge the sitting champions?  Again, only time will tell!

In 2015 the MVPs for the Guyanese Team, Orin Lewis and Tony (Buffy) James, tied in 2nd place with MVPs for the Dominica Team, Garfield (Ras Garbo) Trotman and Marc Williams.  The 3rd points level also saw a tie with partners representing JamKitNev Association, Carol (Zastro) Raymore and Daniel (Snake) Vitalo, and a pair representing Dominica, Anthony Powell and Elvis Norford.  Are these persons coming back to challenge for supremacy this year?  What do you think?

Congratulations to all participants in the 2018 edition of the JamKitNev Association Non Nationals DominoTournament with special thanks going out to the Kittitians who joined in with the various Teams!

See you all next time for another exciting edition of this JamKitNev Association Event!

    “One Love”

NB: The original name of the Association was Jamaican Kittitian (JamKit) Association, although it had members on both Nevis and St Kitts.  In 2016 the members voted to have the name changed to Jamaican Kittitian Nevisian (JamKitNev) Association.
