Police Press Release: Report of arrests, convictions and other activities June 21 & 22, 2018

    Basseterre, St. Kitts, June 24, 2018 (RSCNPF): Below is a report of arrests, convictions and other activities recorded by the Royal St. Christopher and Nevis Police Force for the period June 21-22, 2018.

     

    ARRESTS AND BAIL:
     
    Arrested: Khalifah Liburd of Buckley's Development was arrested, formally charged and cautioned for Disorderly Conduct by Fighting.  
     
    Arrested: Davil Francis of Buckley's Estate was arrested, formally charged and cautioned for the offence of Disorderly Conduct by Fighting.
     
    Arrested: Neville Fahie of Newton Ground was arrested, formally charged and cautioned for the offences of Failing to Comply With Traffic Pedestrian Signal showing the diagram of an upraised hand and for Making Use of Indecent Language. 
     
    Arrested/Bailed: Javier Hutton of St. Peters was arrested, formally charged and cautioned for the offence of Uttering a Forged Document. He was granted bail in the sum of $25,000 and is set to appear before the Basseterre Magistrate Court on August 20, 2018 with the following bail conditions: (1) he is to surrender all travel documents; and (2) he is to report to Basseterre Police Station every Wednesday between 6 a.m. and 6 p.m.
     
    Arrested/Bailed: Dagena Roberts of Ponds Extension was arrested, formally charged and cautioned for Disorderly Conduct by Fighting, He was granted bail in the sum of $5,000 for his appearance at the Basseterre Magistrate Court on July 02, 2018. 
     
    Arrested/Bailed: Kejauni David of Ponds Pasture was arrested, formally charged and cautioned for Disorderly Conduct by Fighting. He was granted bail in the sum of $5,000 for his appearance at the Basseterre Magistrate on July 02, 2018. 
     
    Bailed: David Bakut of Upper Market Street, Basseterre, who was charged for the offence of Forgery committed between January 01, 2016 and December 30, 2017, was granted bailed in the sum of $25,000 for his appearance before the Basseterre Magistrate Court on July 02, 2018 with the following bail conditions: (1) he is to surrender all travel documents;  and (2) he is to report to the Basseterre Police Station every Monday, Wednesday and Friday between 6 a.m. and 6 p.m.
     
    COURT CONVICTIONS: 
     
    In matters at the Basseterre Magistrate Court, presided over by His Honour Reynold Benjamin, the following were reported:
     
    - Etienne Henry of Lodge Project was convicted and cautioned for the offence of Failing to Comply with a Traffic Sign;
     
    - Curth Brathwaite of Tabernacle was convicted and fined $500 to be paid in fourteen (14) days or, in default, serve fourteen (14) days in prison for the offence of Driving Without Due Care and Attention;
     
    - Errington Alexis of Parry Housing was convicted and fined $150 to be paid forthwith or serve seven (7) days in prison for the offence of Failing to Comply with a Traffic Sign;
     
    - Dionis Underwood of New Road Project was convicted and fined $750 to be paid in one (1) month or, in default, serve two (2) months in prison for the offence of Driving Without Due Care and Attention;
     
    - Ionis Underwood of New Road Project was convicted and fined $750 to be paid in six (6) weeks or, in default, serve two (2) months in prison for the offence of Driving Without Insurance;
     
    - Sherizam Williams of Wingfield Heights, Old Road was convicted and fined $750 to be paid in six (6) weeks or, in default, serve two (2) months in prison for Permitting Another to Drive; 
     
    - Clifford Ible of Douglas Estate was cautioned for the offence of Failing to Comply with Traffic Signs;
     
    - Oral Curtis Carty Of Green Tree Housing, Old Road was convicted and fined $150 to be paid in fourteen (14) days or, in default, serve seven (7) days in prison for the offence of Driving Without a Seatbelt. 
     
    OTHER ACTIVITIES:
     
    Marijuana Plants Uprooted: Officers of District “B” reported that they uprooted fifty (50) mature marijuana plants in the Ottleys area.
     
    Abandoned Properties Searched: Police continued to execute searches on properties. Most recently they were done in the areas of Upper Shaw Avenue, Sandy Point, Maude Nisbett Alley, Upper Cayon, Lodge Village, Harris Village, Saddlers Village, St. Paul’s and Newtown.
