By: Staff Reporter, SKNVibes.com
BASSETERRE, St. Kitts, Jul. 04.2018 – METEOROLOGISTS are keeping a close watch on a small area of low pressure associated with a tropical wave, producing a concentrated area of showers several hundred miles west-southwest of the Cabo Verde Islands.

Additional development of this system is possible during the next few days, while the low moves westward at 10 to 15 mph over the tropical Atlantic Ocean.

This is the first major development in the Southern Atlantic Basin for 2018 Hurricane season.

According to the National Hurricane Center, Invest 95L, upper-level winds are expected to become less conducive for development by this weekend when the system approaches the Lesser Antilles.

They stated that formation chance through 48 hours is low,  30 percent, whilst chances through the next 5 days, remains at low 30 percent.
