Shooting incident leaves several injured

    Basseterre, St. Kitts – MEMBERS of the Royal St. Christopher and Nevis Police Force are presently investigating a shooting incident which has left several people injured.

     

     
    The incident took place at about 8:30 p.m. on July 14 in the Westbourne Ghaut area.
     
    According to a police press release, a report of a shooting incident at Westbourne Ghaut was received to which officers from several units responded. So far, investigations have revealed that a motorcar which was travelling along Westbourne Ghaut had stopped at the corner of Central Street where people were gathered on the seaside, and opened fire
     
    “As a result, Kirk “Scotty” Hobson of Upper Fiennes Avenue and Javed Gumbs of Lime Kiln received several gunshot injuries about the body. Hobson underwent surgery and both he and Gumbs are warded in stable condition. Gail Williams, who was standing a short distance from the corner, was grazed by a bullet on her head. She was treated and discharged,” the release said.
     
    Investigations into the incident continues and anyone with information regarding this matter are urged to call any Police Station or the Violent Crimes Unit at 467-1887, 467-1888, 662-3468.
