BASSETERRE, St. Kitts – WHILE a breakthrough was made in the Dexter Marsham murder case, the Royal St. Christopher and Nevis Police Force is seeking further assistance from the public in the apprehension of another suspect.

A police press release issued yesterday (July 27) informs that Curtlee ‘Topac’ Rogers of Parsons Village was formally arrested and charged with Marsham’s July 18, 209 murder.

The release indicated that the arrest took place last week Friday (July 24) and that Rogers has since been taken before the court and remanded to Her Majesty’s Prison, where he awaits the commencement of the Preliminary Inquiry into the case.

The police however indicate that despite their attempts they have been unsuccessful in locating Alpha ‘Raga’ Duporte, who is also wanted in connection with the crime.

“Over the last week, the police in Sandy Point assisted by officers of the Drug Unit, the Crime Response Unit and the St. Kitts Nevis Defence Force, conducted operations in the foot hills between St. Pauls and Saddlers in search of Alpha ‘Raga’ Duporte who is wanted for the murder of Dexter Marsham. In furtherance of the investigation, a number of search warrants were executed on premises in Godwins, Halfway Tree, St. Pauls, Newton Ground, Sandy Point and Saddlers. Several persons were arrested on suspicion of murder, interviewed and discharged.”

The Royal St. Christopher and Nevis Police Force has extended thanks to “those members of the public who have been providing valuable information to assist in this investigation” and appealed for “continued support as the investigation progresses”.

Any person having information relative to the incident or the whereabouts of Duporte, is asked to contact the nearest police station or the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) at 465-2241 ext 230.
